Activities - Winter

Surrounded by Whitefish Lake, Glacier National Park, Flathead National Forest and Viking Creek Wetland Preserve, Whitefish is a gateway to a wilderness area equal to the size of the state of Vermont.

The scenic wonders of Glacier National Park or the slopes of Whitefish Mountain Resort are just minutes away. Nine area golf courses provide challenges for experts and duffers alike. There are outdoor activities to suit every age and ability. Just outside our front door, the sparkling waters of Whitefish Lake offer a wealth of recreational opportunities from on site water skiing and wake boarding to peaceful paddle rentals. And of course you can relax and swim in our pool or private beach both next to our summer favorite, the Tiki Bar. For a more romantic evening enjoy a champagne sunset cruise aboard the Lady of the Lake our 31′ classic wooden motor cruiser.

Other favorite warm weather activities include hiking, mountain biking, swimming and whitewater rafting and of course, there’s fishing. Whether you choose fly or spin, river or lake, this is where you’ll catch “the big one”. Guided fishing trips are available on site through our Marina.

When the snows come, enjoy the beauty of Glacier National Park in winter on snowshoes or cross-country skis. There is much to do, with two ski areas, miles of snowmobile trails and frozen lakes and ponds for ice skating.

Take the time to explore and enjoy! The Lodge at Whitefish Lake is the perfect base for any Montana adventure.
